DURAroller Mat Roller

Solidly Simple

Our DURAroller mat roller is the simplest and most economical mat rolling machine on the market. We don’t have a lot of complicated controls and settings that rarely get used in the real world.

The system is simple, strong and reliable. It rolls straight and fast. We will match the productivity claims of any single operator machine on the market.

We produce the DURAroller in American with components that are readily available throughout North America. Our simple belt and rolling finger design is well known for providing a quality roll and high production. With belt speeds topping out at 350 fpm we compete with production rates of any mat rolling platform.

We do utilize a foot pedal to control the rolling operation. This gives the operator complete control of the rolling operation providing a tight roll that does not cone out on the ends like the offshore competition.

Using the basic concept of the older PDPI rollers we made significant improvements in the mechanics , drive system and controls. VFD drives and computer controls to replace older obsolete relay logic. Larger shafts and bearings and a gear belt drive system to mention a couple more. Our goal is to keep your production high and your down time at a minimum.

We offer the DURAroller in a 4 and 6 foot model.

If you are in the market for a new or replacement Mat Roller please give us the opportunity to discuss why we feet that our DURAroller is the very best value for your equipment dollar.

Controlling The Start Of The Roll

Laying the mat on a moving conveyor has resulted in coning of the mat ends since about 1993 when the first wide belt roller was introduced. The new entries into the rolling machine market have not improved the resulting mat coning.

Providing the operator to control the start of the mat into the rolling mechanism is the best method for producing a roll that is straight on both ends. Utilizing a foot pedal is not for controlling a machine is not an obsolete method. On the contrary, the foot pedal allows the operator to start the mat slowly assuring the lead edge is lined up properly and a fast finish for high production and a straight roll when finished.

No Waiting For The Roller Mat To Return

There are those who would have you believe that not having to wait for a mat to complete a roll is a significant productivity advantage. If you actually watch one of that type of roller in operation for any length of time you will have to scratch your head and say where is the productivity increase.

Once the operator acquires the mat it still has to be carted or stored so the only savings is a few seconds on the first mat only. And that is only with the shorter 4 and 5 foot mats. That is the video you see most often. Our DURAroller rolls a 3X5 mat in about 3 seconds with an experienced operator.

If you observe an operator rolling 6 and 10 foot mats for any length of time you will understand there are a number of challenges with that procedure. The wider longer mats are more difficult to get out of the cart and to get on to a moving feeding bed. They are twisted and knotted and once on the belt the operator has to flatten them for rolling while being pulled into the roller.

If you now add that a large rolled mat will be catapulted back to the operator over the mat that he is trying to straighten out for a good roll you create an ergonomics nightmare in addition to a poor roll.

I have observed this at a number of locations. If you do 40 or 50 percent of your volume in the wider longer mats you should visit an installation and actually observe the larger mats being rolled.
