Light Curtain Kits
Operator safety is an important aspect of production equipment. Many new production machines are equipped with Safety Light Curtains.
We have developed a field installed light curtain kit for the older PDPI EZ Roller, High Roller II and High Roller II-S. The installation is very simple and we have had over 500 successful installations in the last 3 or 4 years all across North American.
If you are implementing a safety system program in your plant or if you have been requested by a regulatory agency to protect the pinch point on your roller we can help.
The kit includes everything you need to mount the actual sending and receiving devices on your roller.
There are very detailed instructions with color photos with lots of lines and arrows.
All the hardware you need is included in the kit. The kits are specific to each model to assure proper coverage of the rolling area.
The control box is self contained and requires only some simple connections in the control panel of the roller to be integrated as an additional layer of safety for your operators.
Once installed the entire rolling area is protected by the beams of the light curtain. Any penetration of the field will result in an immediate shut down of the roller. There is a bit of a learning curve for the operators for keeping their hands out of the beam area. In order to get the proper kit for each machine we request photos of a couple of key areas that help identify the machine and some of the important components. Installations have gone extremely smoothly over most all of the installations.
